MoTR 36 is 35:06 minutes long and is a 24.2 MB file in MP3 format.
INTRO: Based on “Time v2.1″ by Meta Sektion, additional mixing by James Kendrick.
HOSTS: David Ciccone, James Kendrick and Kevin C. Tofel
TOPICS:
Kevin is cranky due to the new Oblivion game on the Xbox 360. Look out!
Brighthand is now part of BargainPDA. Good luck with the new site gang!
Are any MoTR listeners interested in a “meet and greet” geek-out? Dave and Kevin are in the NJ, PA area and James may be coming to NYC in a few weeks! Drop a comment if interested and we’ll see what we can do!
NYC mobile folks, both Palm and Windows Mobile, should check out the NYCDAUG that meets monthly.
Is Gateway’s new NX100 notebook an “ultra-portable”? We don’t think so, but it’s not a bad notebook for $1,650.
Even better might be Toshiba’s dual core notebook for $1,250 that includes OneNote 2003 and an integrated optical drive.
TabletKiosk’s UMPC is available for pre-order. Say hi to the “eo”, although we think it should be dubbed the “gobi”. What do you think?
Looks like Kevin was wrong and Toshiba will not be entering the UMPC market at this time. Hmm…..
Who wants an Origami device integrated in their car?
Speaking of cars, how about using EV-DO in the car for mobile television. Slingbox or Orb + EV-DO + Origami = mobile TV bliss.
Sprint’s faster EV-DO via Revision A coming in 1Q2007 and Kevin is disappointed in the speed.
EV-DO is “disruptive” in a good way according to the listener e-mail from Tim Marman.

It’s Interesting. Like James, I’m in Houston and a Verizon customer (at least I presume he’s switching to Verizon since his Sprint EV-DO phone is apparently good only as a boat anchor). I got EV-DO last month, and I agree that it can be a revelation. However, I’ve been disappointed with the transfer speed. I occasionally see DL bursts of 1.5 mB/s, but typical is 150 kB/s. Not awesome.

Just so we don’t have another LogMeIn fiasco
NYCDAUG here in the “Big Apple” is pronounced “Nice-Dawg”.
